Early breast cancer detection may just help save your life. Health Essentials in Joplin held a meeting for women to come learn more about breast cancer. Different types of x-rays were shown to show exactly what a lump looks like inside a breast. Doctors showed women how exactly what a lump looks like inside a breast. Doctors also showed women how they can properly check them selves for lumps in their breasts. Karen Wells - Freeman Breast Health Specialist "We did a study a few years ago and a lot of women are afraid of the pain, embarrassment and cost. But we`ve done a lot to help with those. We do give away free mammograms to women who qualify. We`re trying to educate them about the slight discomfort of a mammogram, about the importance of early detection." If you would like to have a mammogram, you can call Freeman Hospital at (417) 623-2801.
