Neosho Murder

Updated: January 7, 2009
A Neosho man is dead, and another man is arrested for his murder. Four State Sheriff`s deputies have arrested an area man in connection with a homicide late last night in Tipton Ford. Authorities are saying very little today about the events that led up to the homicide in order to ensure that the trial is still held in Newton County. We do know that 30-year-old Chicago native, Vincent Argentino was arrested at 7:45 this morning at a relative`s house in Neosho. He was charged with first degree homicide and was taken to the Newton County jail where he is being held on one million dollars bond. The arrest came after the Newton County Sheriff`s Department says Argentino stabbed 25 year old Travis Williams of Neosho at this Tipton Ford residence. Williams died this morning in a Joplin hospital from multiple stab wounds. Sheriff Doerge says he`s proud of his investigators who quickly wrapped up the case. Sheriff Doerge was unable to tell us why Argentino and Williams were at the same home in Tipton Ford, but it was neither of their residences. Reported By: Jennifer Grannan
