A local radio group is fined for several FCC offenses.
Petracom`s KCAR radio station has been ordered to pay a 35-hundred dollar fine. The fine stems from a 2002 FCC inspection. The FCC found no logs of required EAS tests during a period of time from that year.
The station`s public file also didn`t have an "issues-program" list.
Petracom says the station manager and former hard-ship were the causes of the violations. General Manager George DeMarco also says the station manager has been terminated since then and new procedures have been put in place to comply with FCC regulations. Petracom filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy last year. That protection has been extended through May 15th.
