Holiday Travel

Updated: January 7, 2009
The Memorial weekend holiday is here and with it,traffic. But after the government announced a threat of terrorist attack this summer, there`s renewed concern. People say the terrorist threats are certainly on their minds, but they are trying to keep their plans intact. And the holiday traffic will be just as heavy as ever. One economic benefit is the amount of people stopping at convenience stores to buy travel-time snacks and drinks. But of course a draw back is the high price of gas. Don McGee, who is on a 10 hour road trip with his wife from Bella Vista, Arkansas to Hill City, Kansas for a family reunion. McGee is an Army Veteran who says terrorism is something everyone thinks about, especially during busy travel times away from home. But he says there are other ways to resolve international issues than to resort to violence. And McGee has plenty of thoughts on a variety of travel issues including the price of gas. But he also has some reasons to be thankful during the Memorial Day weekend, as we remember those who have died fighting for the United States. Reported By: Ryan Loyd
