Memorial Proclamation

As people celebrate this weekend, a state leader remembers local soldiers that have died in service. Missouri Governor Bob Holden issued a Memorial day proclamation to honor 805 Americans that gave their lives in Iraq and Afghanistan, including 24 missourians. Governor Holden included five local soldiers in the proclamation: Specialist Jonathan Barnes of Anderson Second Lieutenant Benjamin Colgan of Aurora Staff Sergeant Daniel Kisling Junior of Neosho Staff Sergeant James Mowris of Aurora Sergeant Phillip Svitak of Joplin Governor Holden read the proclamation this morning at a memorial ceremony in St. Louis. He will make the proclamation again monday morning at the Liberty Memorial in Kansas City.
