Schifferdecker Closed

You may soon find yourself taking a new route to work. Schifferdecker Avenue in Joplin will close starting Tuesday June 8th for a major road construction project. Schifferdecker will be closed from 32nd to 20th street. A detour will take motorist East on 32nd street to Maidne Lane, North to 20th street and then west back to Schifferdecker. And while the construction will provide some inconvience, engineers say it`s a long time in the making.
The city also plans to add traffic signals on the intersections of Schifferdecker and 32nd and Schifferdecker and 26th.
