Updated: January 7, 2009
A house fire in Carthage causes an estimated $30,000 worth of damage. Firefighters put out the flames in about ten minutes, but the smoldering took almost two hours to extinguish. Officials say the fire started because someone left the iron plugged in. No one was home when the fire started, but the homeowner returned after hearing of the fire.
