Updated: January 7, 2009
A local county continues to pick up pieces after a severe storm causes major damage in the area. Cherokee County, Kansas is still picking up debris after heavy winds, strong rain and hail knocked over trees and poles Sunday. Most residents in the area were without power until late today, but some residents in Galena and Riverton are still without power. Cleanup efforts have continued for nearly 48 hours, but trees still line many yards and along roadways. Crews will continue to work until full power is restored. There is no word yet when remaining residents will have power again. Reported By: Priscilla Mace
