Newton County Damage

And power is slowly coming back on for residents in Newton County, Missouri. Crews from Empire District worked through the night and morning hours and have restored power to a significant portion of the 35 thousand customers impacted by sunday`s storms. As of late Monday about five thousand customers are still without power, mostly in the Neosho, Seneca and Granby area. An a historic tree planted in 1810 in Granby fell victim to the weekend storm. Some residents in Riverton and Galena, Kansas as well as parts of Ottawa County Oklahoma are still without power.
