McDonald County Drowning

More than a week after an area youth was sucked into a bridge drain pipe, another four state youth nearly drowns in a similar incident. 17-year-old Nick Seay of Grove, Oklahoma and two friends were trying to retrieve a paddleboat on Butler Creek near Shadow lake when seay was sucked into the drain pipe. Seay`s friend, Matthew North held Seay`s head above water until authorities arrived on the scene. Deputies say high waters and debris made it difficult to get the two boys to safety. Seay was taken was by medflight from the scene to a joplin hospital. He was released from the hospital Monday afternoon. Reported By: Priscilla Mace
