Autistic Man Spreads Awareness By Sharing His Story

A Missouri man with autism shares his story of struggle in hopes of educating others.
Aaron Likens was diagnosed with asperger's syndrome at 20 years old.
Two years later he wrote a book about his experiences called "Finding Kansas."
Likens says his goal is to give insight to others about how the the brain works for someone who has autism.
He's delivered his message to hundreds including parents, teachers, and police officers across Missouri.
Likens says his goal is to give others like himself..hope.
Community Education Specialist for Touchpoint Autism Services Aaron Likens says,
"For us on the spectrum a lot of us are very bad advocates for ourselves, we have a hard time speaking up for ourselves so its very good for those around us to know what could be going on in terms of in school or when theres a crisis of some sort."
One out of 100 people are diagnosed with autism nationwide.
