Local police are involved in an early morning chase after an attempted traffic stop. An area officer says he clocked a vehicle going more than 20 miles per hour over the speed limit, but when he attepted to pull over the car it turned the other way. However, the vehicle didn`t make it far,ending up on the shoulder of the road, where the driver stayed with the vehicle waiting for officers, but the second passenger took off on foot. A charge of resisting arrest was filed against 20 year old Anthony Coy of Joplin who was the driver of the vehicle. Passenger Aaron Wilson of Carl Junction was also charged for running from law enforcement. The second passenger has not been charged at this time. Written By: Kelli Baldwin
