Volunteers from the 'Joplin Prom Project' organized the event at the Joplin Holiday Inn.  More than 1,000 dresses were donated to high school juniors and seniors.  The slogan of this year's prom is 'Dreams Do Come True'.  And organizers hope this event will make that slogan become a reality for the student.  Event Creator Melissa Blayton says every girl should feel special for their prom.  "What is prom without the perfect dress?  Every girl needs the perfect dress."

Megan Green helped coordinate the dresses as they were being donated from across the country.  But she says it's worth the extra work to see the smiles on the girls faces when they see the perfect dress.  "This year especially, these girls have gone through so much with of the destruction."  Green says.  "We just wanted them to have a really fun prom, and something memorable to end the year on a high note."

If you would like to help Joplin Prom Project,  they'll be holding a Celebrity Brunch and Lunch,  at Crabbys on March 18th.  Local celebrity's will wait tables, and all tips will be donated.  You can show up from 11 A.M. until 4 P.M.
