And across town near I-44 crews are already hard at work putting the foundation up of the new hospital.
They have drilled 12 foundation holes and they have 160 more to go.
Crews at the old hospital are separating the metal debris to recycle it in Joplin.
The old St. John's tower is expected to be fully demolished in mid May.
The new hospital is expected to be finished in 2015.
