Updated: January 7, 2009
A new program helps families communicate better and members of the community are leading the way. Representatives from area educational and non-profit groups learn to be facilitators. The program, First Families, is sponsored by the Lafayette House. A national researcher joined the Lafayette House to tell these facilitators the benefits of the program. First Families is for parents who suffer from drug and alcohol abuse. They attend for 14 weeks to learn to become better parents. The program lasts 14 weeks and everyone is welcome.
