Lottery Winner Causes a Big Income Tax Boost

Last month, an anonymous Kansas resident was one of three winners in the record $656 million lottery jackpot.
The winner took a one time pay out that totaled about $110 million after taxes.
Of the nearly $50 million paid in taxes the state of Kansas received about $8 million.
That money has already been added to next year's state budget.
The budget is expected to approved later this year.
