UPDATE: Carthage Police Release Identity of Body Found in Spring River.

CARTHAGE, MO -- Carthage Police release the identity of a body found in Spring River.

The victim has been identified as 43-year-old Mario Gonzalez.

Police say Gonzalez was homeless and known to be a frequen visitor of the homeless camp north of Carthage, near where his body was found.

Gonzalez was found in Spring River near the 600 block High Street in Carthage around 9:15 A.M. Wednesday April 25th.

The death is being investigated as a homicide and the major case squad has been called to assist.
