GALENA, KS -- A burglary suspect is arrested after being chased by the home-owner.

Police say 40-year-old Jeffrey A. Jones of Galena was arrested earlier this week after a Columbus resident returned home to find Jones burglarizing the property.

Reports say Jones fled the scene, but was pursued by the home-owner, who called 911 to report their location.

The suspect's vehicle slid off the road and he was caught by a Cherokee County Sheriff's deputy.

Jones is charged with burglary, criminal in possession of a firearm, theft and criminal damage to property.

He remains in custody in lieu of a $10,000.
