MIAMI, OK -- Recent heavy rain fall in Kansas impacts Northeast Oklahoma.

Miami got less than an inch of rain. But, the Neosho River is fully out of it's bank and covering half of Riverview Park in Miami.

That's because Southeast Kansas got more than six inches of rain in the storm.

The Neosho River flows from Kansas into Oklahoma causing the flooding you see right now.

The river is at 20.5 feet which is 5 feet over flood stage.

Water has reached the fair grounds but has not affected any city roads yet.

"The Army Corps has requested GRDA to open two main gates and there are seven taner gates open and they are opening one at Cur Dam. So as you can see behind me it's flowing quite well which is really great for Miami," says Glenda Longan, Miami's Emergency Manager.

The river is expect to crest at 22 feet by tomorrow.

Highway 125 could get flooded and be closed to traffic tomorrow.
