Arrest Made in April 25th Carthage Homicide

CARTHAGE, MO---Police have arrested 45-year-old Juan Mendoza in connection to the death of 43-year-old Mario Gonzalez.

Mendoza faces charges of first-degree murder.

He was arrested at the Carthage Police Department and is being held there pending formal charges.

Gonzalez's body was found in Spring River near 600 High Street on April 25th.

Police say he died from a wound from a sharp instrument.

Authorities received more than 140 leads in the case.

They also say Gonzalez frequently stayed at a carthage homeless camp near where his body was found.
