The group has partnered with the Rapha House to provide training on how to spot human trafficking.
It's estimated $27-million people are forced into sex and labor slavery around the world each year.
The average cost for a slave around the world is $90.
Event organizers say human trafficking is also a problem in our own backyard.
"If it's an important issue to you, you can pass it on to your legislators," Former Soroptimist International President Wendi Douglas says. "I think more awareness needs to be in development and shown how this is a local need."
The training will be held on Friday, May 18th at the Mills Anderson Criminal Justice Building on the campus of Missouri Southern.
Two sessions will be available, one in the morning from 9:00 AM to 11:30 AM and another in the afternoon from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM.
