Mayor Greg York's job is on the line after a recall petition was filed against him.
Three Parsons residents claim Mayor York failed to perform his duties as commissioner.
In the petition they also state York has shown acts of misconduct.
Filers of the petition say York has a conflict of interest by working with a company who works for the City of Parsons.
The group also says York ordered a woman to be physically removed during a public meeting after an argument and fails to control his temper during commission meetings.
The petition to recall York was issued in March and filed Friday.
The Labette County Clerk says 252 residents signed the document.
A total of 232 were needed.
Now, voters will decide whether or not he'll keep his job.
"Should he be let go, the present city council would appoint a different person to take his unexplored term," says labette county clerk linda schreppel.
York was elected mayor in 2009. His term would end in July of 2013 if residents vote to keep him in office.
Mayor York denied an on-camera interview but did issue a statement.
Part of it reads: "If any of these allegations were true, I would immediately remove myself from this commission, but they are not."
Residents will vote on the issue during primary elections on August 7th in Labette County.
