JOPLIN, MO -- Joplin kids share their May 22nd experience in a new book.

Desiree Shofler and Tadrien Hill wrote about their personal tornado experiences in the short stories.

They're now in a book titled "Pieces Of Me."

It's a collection of stories written by kids around the world in "Writing For The Soul Workshop" seminars.

A non-profit publishing company in Kansas City hosts the classes in a variety of locations including Joplin.

The goal is for mentors help kids express their feelings through writing.

"A lot of them chose to write abot their worst days and for them it became theraputic. Healing was about to take plac, especially for the joplin tornado survivors," says book publisher Eric Jones.

"I had to get my feelings out about it because that day was really scary. We didn't know what was going to happen," says 11-year-old writer Tadrien Hill.

Pieces Of Me will be released Friday. You can find the book at Vintage Stock.
