JOPLIN, MO -- A man is in critical condition after being shot this morning.
The 41-year-old man was found laying on the ground in the parking lot of Horton's Pizza on 13th and Shifferdecker.
A clerk from Horton's called 911 around 11 this morning.
Police and EMS arrived to find him with one gun shot wound to his back.
Investigators tell Action 12 News that the man could have been shot at another location- then arrived at Horton's.
The man has told police he was being robbed at the convenience store.
"Right now we don't have any information on a suspect. The detectives are doing a canvas of the apartments and all the businesses around here," says Lt. Darren Gallup with Joplin PD.
Officers have 30 leads so far. Detectives searched for clues all morning- watching surveillance videos from both the convenience store and the apartments next door .
They are also examining possible evidence found inside the victim's car which was parked at Horton's.
The Tri-State Major Case Squad has not been called for assistance yet.
But, the whole JPD investigation unit is on the case.
