CARTHAGE, MO.--- The Carthage Police Department, Carthage Fire Department, and Carthage Mecy McCune Brooks ambulance personnel were dispatched to 1938 S. Main Street in reference to a garage collapsing on 2 people. A 34 year old man and two other individuals were in the process of demolishing a garage when the garage collapsed on the male and one other person in the garage. The male was trapped uner the collapsed building for approximately 30 minutes. Fire personnel were able to move his toes at the time he was taken to the hospital. He was taken by MED flight.
The second individual who was in the garage at the time it collapsed received a slight laceration to his right ear. He was able to escape the garage on his own.
