2012 Joplin Relay for Life

Bands, food and several information booths greeted walkers at Cunningham Park Saturday.

Despite the heat, relay for life organizers say they saw a good turnout.

They say holding the relay in Cunningham Park is symbolic, showing that cancer survivors and the city face many of the same struggles as they both rebuild their lives.
