Joplin High School Demolition Nearing to an End

JOPLIN, MO---The basement is all that's left to break up and remove.  School district officials say, even after the school is gone, there's still more work to be done.  Joplin R-8 Grounds Director, Mike Johnson says, "Foundations, the remnants of the properties we purchased we'll have to clean up the parking lots, tennis courts, various components remaining at the high school."

Crews expect to be done with the school itself withing the next week or so.  The new high school is scheduled to open in the Fall of 2014.
