An Ottawa County commissioner turns in his resignation sitting family concerns for his departure. Joe Crawford resigned his post as county commissioner yesterday stating in a written letter he needed more time with family. He resigns the position following much controversy about possible conflict of interest between his position with the county and his personal construction firm. The results of an audit about the situation have not yet been made public. Nearly a year remains on the commissioners term and so now the governor will decide to either call a special election or appoint someone to the post.
