JOPLIN, MO.--- Joplin's new Disaster Recovery Coordinator says he's facing a lot of challenges. Tony Robyn started the job last Friday. He says his main goal is to ensure tornado grant funds are used correctly. Right now, he is working to make sure the 47 million dollar community development block grant is used to fix intersections affected by the tornado last May. He also wants to make sure the citizen advisory recovery team's priorities are integrated into projects moving forward.

"This is a position the city has lacked for some time, they're really short on community development and planning staff as it is, so this is a real opportunity to bring someone on who could focus exclusively on tornado recovery," states Tony Robyn, Disaster Recovery Coordinator.

The Disaster Recovery Coordinator position is expected to last at least 2 or 3 years.
