It's all part of the 69th annual George Washington Carver Day celebration held at the national monument.There were storytellers, tours, and educational programs for the kids to learn about Dr. Carver.There were also special speakers and even musical performances by area church choirs.
Some visitors came as far as away as Oregon to attend the Carver Days celebration.
Oregon resident Jenny Holmes says,"It's great to see families from all over the place coming to this spot where we can find so much inspiration from somebody who lived in the past..theres just so much we can learn from Dr. Carver."12 year old Imunique Moody says,"He just fought until he got his college school, and so he got to do everything that he wanted to conquer in life before he died.
