NEOSHO, MO.--- The organization recently received a $10,000 grant to begin a Livestrong campaign. The program is designed to help those who have been affected by cancer, both physically and emotionally. Employees are attending classes on how to counsel patients, and train participants in the gym. They will begin a pilot program this fall and are inviting residents to register.
"Individuals can stop by here at the Y and fill out a registration form. They'll be put on a waiting list and then will be called when we are ready to start the program," states Johanna Rowe, Community Relations Director.
The program is being offered at YMCA facilities in Neosho, Missouri, and Rogers, Arkansas.
