JOPLIN, MO.-- Today, Bright Futures Volunteers spent time sorting through hundreds of boxes of donated school supplies. Everything from notebooks to calculators has to be separated. Volunteers say it will take at least 2 days to go through all the supplies. When they are finished, everything will be distributed to students at Joplin, Webb City, and Carl Junction schools.

"It allows the community to come in and help fellow people in their community, kids that do not have the means to be able to get their school supplies. So while you are out and getting your own, it doesn't hurt to pick up some extra paper and pencils and put it on Stuff the Bus, because you never know if you are helping someone sitting right next to you," states Cortnee Eaton, Joplin Schools Bright Futures Coordinator.

Eaton says the fundraiser becomes more successful with each year.
