MISSOURI--- The State Department of Health and Senior Services is now accepting nominations for Missouri Older Worker of the Year. It's an annual contest to recognize anyone older than 65 who works more than 20 hours per week. The winner and regional finalists will be recognized at an awards ceremony in Jefferson City in the fall. Representatives from the Area Agency on Aging say there are a growing number of people working longer, and this contest is a good way to recognize them.

"This definitely would be considered a pick me up for some seniors to know that they are valued and recognized because you do see a lot of seniors that don't feel valued," states Allison Riddle, Community Services Director.
