JOPLIN, MO.--- Samantha Walker has been collecting monkeys for half of her life. Granted, she's only 10. She's amassed quite the collection. She stopped counting a long time ago.

"I've tried to, but after like a hundred, I got tired."

Her collection is on display at the Joplin Public Library. Each month this case displays unique collections. Danya Walker is her mother and she says the monkey hobby has lasted a long time.

"She's done monkey costumes, monkey birthday cakes. If it's got a monkey on it, she probably has it," states Danya Walker, Mother.

So why does she love monkey's so much?

"I'm not sure. I don't know if they're cute of just funny looking," states Samantha.

She says having a hobby is fun and also makes it easier for people to buy her gifts.

"It gives you something to do, makes shopping for Christmas and birthday's a lot easier," states Samantha.

Every time she goes shopping, she's always on a monkey search.

"There's so much monkey stuff, like purses and stuff like that, it's a monkey!"

Whey you get that many monkey's, you start collecting the weird. Like monkey lipstick, and zombie monkey pillows.

"The weirdest thing is monkey sheets, shower curtains, and I have a zombie monkey pillow pet," states Samantha.

However, there is a certain monkey she hates.

"I hate Donkey Kong. He's just weird, he's throwing stuff everywhere. He's a meaner monkey."
