JOPLIN, MO.--- Bill Branham has worked at Tamko for a very long time.
"A little over 30 years, I started in March 82," states Bill Branham, Tamko Employee.
Now he's getting a chance to share 30 years worth of memories about the company he loves in a historic preservation project.
"This will be the first time that the entire history has been put in one place, so I'm excited to help discover the bits and pieces that has made them successful," states Jeff Rodengen, Historian, CEO of Write Stuff Enterprises.
Historian Jeff Rodengen, will interview more than 50 Tamko employees this week.
He's working on a book that will document the past 70 years of this family business turned national corporation.
"It's good to record those kinds of things and to have it available for future generations to emulate and to learn from. Culture is very important." states Rodengen.
A project that will be finished right in time for an important milestone.
"Tamko's 70th anniversary is coming up in 2014 and we wanted to share these stories of our employees and through that share the story of Tamko," states Michelle Martin, Communication Associate, Tamko.
"There's going to be a lot of people in just Joplin in general that whether they have worked at Tamko or not, Tamko has been a part of this community for so long that it's going to be interesting for them to read," states Branham.
Company management is also seeking community input for the project. They're asking anyone with historical or unique Tamko photos or news clippings to contact the organization.
