St. Joseph's Licenses Arrest

ST. JOSEPH, MO.--- A federal grand jury indicted a former St. Joseph License Office employee for his role in a plan to get illegal immigrants a fake license. Thomas Mcnamara, Hector Mendoza, and Isabel Mendoza are all accused of helping more than 100 illegal immigrants get a license from the office in St. Joseph. Federal prosecutors say the Mendoza's posed as translators, bringing illegal aliens to the office. They then paid Mcnamara between 70 and 100 dollars to issue the fake licenses. Three Carthage residents and 6 others from St. Joe are also charged in the conspiracy. Prosecutors say more than 35 hundred licenses were issued to illegal immigrants out of the St. Joseph office since 2009. It was an operation that made more than 5-million dollars.
