JOPLIN, MO.--- It's amazing what William Eigenmann can do with a laptop and a light bulb. He is the winner of the MSSU Video Contest and he was amazed he won.

"I was a bit shocked and happy at the same time," states William Eigenmann, Viedo Winner.

The contest had a simple task, promote MSSU and don't go over 3 minutes. Ron Mitchell is the dean of students and helped judge the video. He says this video stood out.

"Showed students, showed athletics, showed everything about our campus in a very unique way. And showed going to a University is a great thing and does brighten your bulb," states Ron Mitchell, Dean of Students.

The star of the show is the light bulb guy. That was played by Jacob Laster.

"He was like well you're gonna have a light bulb over your head. Am I going to be holding it over my head," states Jacob Laster, Light Bulb Actor.

It took a few days to film the video and some long hours.

"You get me really tired, I'm sure that bulb will be dull," states Laster.

Back when I was in college, if you wanted your friends to help you had to pay in beer and pizza.

"I'm still underage so he won't be paying with beer for quite some time," states Eigenmann.

So how did they make the light bub float?

"That was some compositing software called after effects. Basically had to go frame by frame," states Eigenmann.

The 2 received $500  for coming in 1st place.

"Plan on investing in higher quality camera so we do bigger projects for the future," states Eigenmann.
The school will make this a yearly contest. If you'd like to see the video in full , click here.
