Earthquake Preparations

NEOSHO -- Camp Crowder hosted a training exercise Sunday designed to test soldier response time in the event of a large magnitude earthquake. Several units from different states took part in a mock disaster scenario, where public utilities were disrupted and widespread infrastructure had been damaged. In the case of a Missouri earthquake, Camp Crowder would act as a communication post for soldiers and airmen. The New Madrid seismic zone is located near the boot hill of Missouri, making it possible for an earthquake to occur in the area.
