PITTSBURG, KS.--- The Crawford County Convention and Visitor's Bureau increased its grant funding from $6,000 to $10,000. The extra money is coming from the new 2% hotel tax increase. CVB Director, B.J. Harris also extended the grant application deadline by 10 months. In years past, applications were only accepted for 60 days beginning September 1st, they are now due on October 31st of the following year. Grants are available for groups who strive to increase tourism in the area.

"They're all small staff, if any staff at all. Mostly volunteer based so any financial help we can give them to help them be successful is going to help us all be successful," states B.J. Hariss, Crawford County CVB President.

Grants will be awarded on December 31st.  For information, click here.
