Parsons, KS Increase in Tourism Tax Receipts

By: Dave Smith
Updated: November 7, 2012
PARSONS, KS--- Labette County, Kansas announced that the 2012 fiscal year "bed tax" collections topped $148,000. That's up more than $30,000 or 26% over 2011. The most since the introduction of the new "bed tax" in 2006.

The numbers indicate that visitors to Parsons hotels spent just under $2.5 million in the last year. The Labette County Tourism Director says the increased revenue can be attributed to events such as Katy Days, Farm Heritage, and Two Little League Babe Ruth tournaments.
