MAIMI, OK.--- The state legislature bestowed a new title on the Coleman Theater. As of November 1st, it is officially recognized as the "Premier Historic Vaudeville Theater Palace of the State of Oklahoma." Workers there say the distinction is an honor that will hopefully help others discover and appreciate the facility.
"It gives us that designation that everyone else knows what we know and what our visitors know. They're enthralled by it. They come in and their jaws just drop,"states Barbara Smith, Coleman Theater Director.
The Coleman is open for tours from Tuesday through Saturday on Miami's Main Street.
