JASPER COUNTY, MO.---- The Jasper County Collector's Office wants to make sure residents check their mail this week. Residents should be receiving their personal property tax forms within the next few days. The tax applies to anyone who owns some type of vehicle, building, or other property. You can pay by mailing in your statement or dropping it off at the Carthage or Joplin offices. You can also pay online by going to the Jasper County Collector's website. Officials urge everyone to send in their payments as soon as possible.
"Without that, according to the Missouri State Statute there's a 2% per month interest charge added to them plus a 7% penalty charge," states Stephen Holt, Jasper County Collector.
Missouri property taxes are due by December 31st.
