WEBB CITY, MO.--- This year marks the 16th anniversary of the Shop with a Cop program. 75 officers are teamed up with 75 students from the Webb City School District. Each child is given $100 to spend at Wal-Mart for Christmas. The event is made possible by local donations. Officers say it gives the kids a chance to relate to law enforcement.

"Often times when an officer is involved in someone's life, its' usually not a good experience sometimes. This gives them a good chance to show them we are human, interact, we have families just like everyone else," states Carl Francis, Webb City Chief of Police.

If you would like to donate to the cause you can drop off any funds at the Webb City Police Department, it's located at 211 West Broadway.
