COLUMBUS, KS.--- The school board sent letters to residents and businesses in the district four weeks ago, asking for their input on future building projects. The survey asks residents about potential improvements at several buildings, and about the district forming a committee to explore building a new facility. Superintendent David Carriger says a new building is a big investment by a community, but could end up helping to save tax payer dollars.
"it is a huge investment, and it is a huge undertaking to just keep putting money into old facilities and you still have some old facilities," states David Carriger, Superintendent, Columbus.
