JOPLIN, MO.--- The Labette County Community College Alumni Association honored Gary Bandy. They gave him the Outstanding Alumni Award. Bandy graduated from LCC in 1975. He started his broadcast career at a Parsons radio station, later moving to T.V. weather, where he's spent the last 18 years. Bandy says he's thrilled to receive such a distinction.

"I feel honored, I feel like there's been a huge mistake made, but I'm going to hold on to this tightly and I'm not giving it back," states Gary Bandy, KSN Meterologist.

This is the 13th year LCC has recognized an alumni for their lifetime achievements. Joplin Superintendent C.J. Huff received the award last year.
