NEVADA, MO.--- Nevada Police Officers say nearly 10 families have shown interest in restarting the program. Officers hope that putting the program in place will get more people to file police reports. They also say establishing a monthly neighborhood watching meeting would improve communication between neighbors and the police.
"Safety is always the most important thing in society. If we can get people to report crimes, people to report dangerous situations, or suspicious subjects led to the law enforcement in the area to handle the problem," states John Foster, Nevada Police Officer.
Officers plan to host a seminar in December to discuss relaunching the neighborhood watch. No time or place has been set at this time.
