NEOSHO, MO.--- Freeman Health System and Heartland Kidney Center are building a facility on North Business Highway 71. The 5500 square foot building will contain 16 dialysis chairs. Health administrators say the kidney center at Freeman East in Joplin has reached capacity, and many of their patients have to travel from Newton and McDonald counties.

"We see a lot of patients from this area so we wanted to move down here so that they would be able to receive dialysis closer to home. Any business that you have that comes into a community certainly adds to the draw. Freeman has had a presence in Neosho for quite some time now. So, we are continuing to expand," states Daxton Holcomb, Freeman Health System.

The new Heartland Kidney Center will create 8 jobs and is expected to be completed by January.
