CARL JUNCTION, MO.---- The Carl Junction Police Department is currently raising funds to provide Christmas gifts to hundreds of kids in need. On December 15th the children will go shopping with police officers and local volunteers. Organizers say many children in the program might not otherwise get gifts for Christmas, so this program is a good way to spread the love. The Carl Junction Shop with a Cop Program is entirely funded by donations. Last year more than 250 kids were given gifts through this program. Police Chief Delmar Haase says he expects this year's need to be even greater.

"It's a morale booster for us, all of our guys participate. We leave a dispatcher and a police officer working when we are doing that and everyone else goes and helps and everybody has a great time," states Delmar Hasse, Carl Junction Police Chief.

For more information on how you can donate, contact the Carl Junction Police Department.
