Line Begins for Free Flu Shots

By: Import User
Updated: January 7, 2009
As flu season approaches, people are again this year lining up to get a free vaccine. The Jasper County Health Department had planned to pass out shots for four hours today, but the 400 shots they had on hand only lasted about 2 hours. Dozens of people were turned away but were led to other free shot clinics. The health department limits flu shots to the elderly and those suffering from chronic illness as well as care takers. The Joplin Health Department plans to hold a flu shot clinic later this week for Joplin residents only. Area hospitals and some drug stores will also offer shots later in the season.
