National Association of Realtors Predicts Rent Increase

JOPLIN, MO.--- The National Association of Realtors predicts rent will rise 4.6% next year, that's after a 4.1% raise this year. Keller Williams Realtor Mary Plunkett predicts we'll see an increase locally, due to a combination of increased taxes and higher insurance rates. Tornado clean up is also a factor, new construction costs boost rental costs.
"I don't see it going down. I don't see that our insurance is going to go down or that our taxes are going to go down or new construction is going to go down," states Mary Plunkett, Keller Williams Realty.
Nationally, this will be the 4th straight year rental costs have increased.
